Jim Buckley, an artist from Cork who is now based at the Robert Gordon University's Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, is among ten artists sharing in "Britain's richest arts award scheme,", the Creative Scotland Awards. Buckley is one of ten successful candidates who will each receive £30,000 to "develop their creative skills or experiment with other art forms."

According to Buckley,

...my plan is to take time out of my teaching commitments at Gray's School of Art and dedicate 12 months to researching major site specific light works in the USA, Japan and Korea. I will talk to both artists and architects about the use of light and apply this to a series of new works in Aberdeen's Castlegate and Clydebank's waterfront.
