New Chief Executive
at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (August 8, 2000)
Róisín
McDonough is to be the next Chief Executive of the Arts Council of
Northern Ireland, replacing Brian Ferran in October. A graduate in
Economics, Sociology and Politics from Trinity College, Dublin, McDonough
is currently Chief Executive of the West Belfast Partnership, an urban-regeneration
agency. Word is that she will place great emphasis on accessibility,
in putting "the arts...in the heart of local communities and
in everyone's lives," as she has put it.
