Hugh Mulholland x 2 / Seawright for UU / Claire Morgan for Guardian-Saatchi show? (Tuesday 12 September 2006)

Mulholland again Venice curator

Following a very well received curatorship of Northern Ireland's contribution to the 2005 Venice Biennale, Hugh Mulholland has been chosen to curate NI's 2007 presence there. He will present work by Willie Doherty. Doherty's work, Non-specific threat, was shown in the 2005 Biennale, though Mulholland selected a large group of artists for the NI 'pavilion' that year - more here. Mulholland was picked inan open application process.

Mulholland opens new Belfast gallery

Undaunted by the issues surrounding the abrupt closure of the Ormeau Baths Gallery in Belfast, of which he was Director, Hugh Mulholland has opened a new gallery in Belfast. It is called the third space. The inaugural show features the work of Mark McGreevy. It opens 14 September 6 - 8 pm, and the show runs until 13 October. The third space is at Suite 11/12, Scottish Mutual Building, 16 Donegall Square South, Belfast BT1 5JA; +44 28 90 23 77 57; hugh@thirdspacegallery.com; www.thethirdspacegallery.com.

Responses so far
Comment 1 The 3rd space website isn't very informative, what about
artists c.v.s, bios and images?
Comment 2 Is this a public or private gallery? does the ACNI or BCC
fund it? Can artists submit their work to Hugh for
consideration?
Comment 3 Yep more informative site would be useful! Not much on there
really.
