Artist arrested on suspicion of manslaughter

Last July two women died and a three-year-old girl was seriously injured when they were visiting an inflatable installation in Riverside Park in Chester-le-Street, England. The installation, designed by artist Maurice Agis, was part of his tour Dreamspace V, which was planning to visit Liverpool, Chester-le-Street and then London. The tour was inmediatly cancelled when the Dreamspace, a huge structure made from thin PVC sheets, broke it moorings and soared into the air. There were arround 400 people at the park and arround 30 people inside the structure when the disaster ocurred.

On the day of the accident, Agis was one of the witnesses who tried desperately to intervene; now he has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
