Source turns quizzical (Thursday 22 March 2007)

Source, Ireland's excellent and only magazine specialising in photography, will be celebrating its new-look, fiftieth issue with a number of photo-quiz events. The first is tomorrow at Belfast Exposed, 23 Donegall Street, Belfast, from 7 to 10 pm. To quote Source's website, it is an event

"PITCHING THE INSIGHT AND VISION OF CURATORS AGAINST THE INTUITIVE PRACTICAL WISDOM OF PHOTOGRAPHERS IN AN EPIC BATTLE FOR THE VERY SOUL OF LENS BASED MEDIA ITSELF" (more at www.source.ie/main/quizflyer.html)

Two teams have already been picked: the Curators (including theorists) Daniel Jewesbury, Colin Darke, Des Bell and the Photographers Julia Healey, Sylvia Grace Borda and Susan MacWilliam. All are welcome.

The second quiz takes place this Saturday in the Gallery of Photography, Meeting House Square, Dublin. It's at 7, and anyone is welcome to turn up. Two teams are again already known: Photographers David Farrell, Sean Hillen and Theresa Nanigian and Curators Vaari Claffey, Declan Long and Martin McCabe.

Further quiz events will take place in Cardiff, London and Glasgow; more information at the URL given above.
