Conor Fallon
Many will be saddened to learn of the death of sculptor Conor Fallon on 3 October. A member of Aosdána, his work was instantly recognisable - mostly animal motifs in a modernist, streamlined style. A biography is available here.
OBG post advertised
The pace with which the Ormeau Baths Gallery, Belfast, is going about reinventing itself could perhaps be described as 'careful'. Following the appointment of a new chair quite a few months ago (more here), OBG has now advertised for a new Director. Closing date for applications is 24 October, and the new Director is expected to take up the post in February 2008. More information here.
